Kabina® the UK company founded by Neil Cheston and Guy Lane, is to focus on building new homes in flood risk areas across the UK.
Neil Cheston, MD, Kabina®: "We plan to use proven Dutch technology. Why ask the Dutch? Well, because in that country since 1953 there has been no significant flood damage to homes. Every winter, as swathes of the British Isles disappear under the floodwaters with loss of property, livestock and infrasctructure, Holland remains dry and impervious. They have adapted to living with water."
Guy Lane, Marketing Director, Kabina®: "Theresa May wants one million new homes by 2020 in the UK. We want to help by building floodproof homes in flood zones. We are fortunate to have in our team the world's leading water architect, Koen Olthuis, of Waterstudio, Rotterdam, and a leading UK residential development specialist, Julian D'Arcy of Foundation Real Estate. Our strong team and focus bode well for getting started on our first project."
Kabina has issued its new research project in the form of a multi-layered map.
Kabina is advising Peel Land and Property Group on its Liverpool Waters development.
Guy Lane spoke at McBrides’ Finance and Business Breakfast on the challenges of being a start-up.
